Right-To-Know Labels & Software
Description:
All containers containing potentially hazardous materials must be properly labeled. These are commonly called Right-To-Know labels, or RTK labels.
The DuraLabel PRO 300 prints two styles of RTK labels in a variety of sizes. The two styles are shown below- labels using the NFPA Diamond and labels using color bars. Selecting a style is based on personal preference and selecting the style you feel will most effectively communicate the hazards of chemicals used in your facility.

"The purpose of this section is to ensure that the hazards of all chemicals produced or imported are evaluated, and that information concerning their hazards is transmitted to employers and employees. This transmittal of information is to be accomplished by means of comprehensive hazard communication programs, which are to include container labeling and other forms of warning, material safety data sheets and employee training."
NFPA Diamond Labels
These labels use the NFPA Diamond to quickly communicate the type and level of hazard associated with a chemical. Some labels may have just the NFPA Diamond while others provide additional information about PPE, organ hazards, health hazards and other information.
NFPA Diamond labels are available in the following sizes:

3" x 5"
4" x 6"
Color Bar Labels
The second style of RTK labels uses a large format color bar to quickly communicate the type and level of hazard associated with a chemical. Color bar labels may also have addition information similar to NFPA Diamond labels.
Color bar labels are available in the following sizes:
1.4375" x 3"
2" x 2"
3.5" x 5"
RTK Label Software
The DuraLabel PRO 300 comes with proprietary the RTK PRO software that includes a database of labels for over 1,700 chemicals. The information for each label may be modified to make it appropriate for the chemicals used in facility. New chemicals may be added to the database.
The DuraLabel RTK PRO software prints using any of the above die-cut labels.
If the type of RTK label you need is not shown above, the DuraLabel PRO 300 has the capability for you to create your own RTK labels. Use any other software you wish, including Microsoft Word. Templates are included with the DuraLabel so you can quickly get started using Microsoft Word to print Right-To-Know labels.
